How to make kambu Dosai | Pearl millet

Kambu dosa is one of old recipe which is made with Kambu,Urad dal,Raw rice (Main ingredients). Healthiest too. Kambu dosa serve with coconut chutney.




Soaking time:5 Hrs
Fermenting time:4 Hrs
Cooking time: 1/2Hrs
Total time:9 1/2Hrs
Course:Breakfast or Dinner
Cuisine:Tamil

Ingredients:
1 Cup Kambu
1/2 cup raw rice or idly rice
1/2 cup Urad Dal
2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
Salt to taste

Preparation:
  1. Wash kambu or pearls 2 to 3 times and let it soak 5 to 6 hrs
  2. Wash raw rice 2 to 3 times and let it soak 4 to 5 hrs
  3. Wash Urad Dal 2 to 3 times and let it soak 1 to 2 hrs
  4. Wash Fenugreek seeds and let it soak 4 to 5 hrs
Batter preparation:
  1. Drain water from all the soaking bowls and keep aside
  2. Transfer kambu,raw rice,urad Dal and Fenugreek seeds to the mixi jar or grinder
  3. Grind them as a fine coarse like dosa batter
  4. Transfer to the bowl and let it leave 4 to 5 hrs for fermentation
  5. Add required water and salt then mix well
  6. Kambu Dosai batter is ready to make dosa
Kambu dosa preparation:
  1. Heat the Dosa pan. Pour one ladle of the batter and spread it like dosa. Add ½ tsp of oil or ghee across the edges. Cook on medium flame
  2. When it cooks on one side, flip it and cook on other side as well
  3. Serve kambu dosa with coconut Chutney
