How to make kuthiraivali Dosa | Barnyard Millet Dosa
Modern life leads to traditional foods. Yes of course now a
days everyone goes back and interested to have traditional food.
Ingredients:
(1 cup = 400 ml)

Cup Kuthiravali
½
Cup Raw Rice or idly rice
½ Cup Urad Dal
1
tblsp Fenugreek seeds (Venthayam)
Salt
to taste
Water
as needed
Preparation:
1. Wash 1 cup raw rice or
idli rice 2 or 3 times and soak it in water, let it sit for 4 hours
2. Take another pot, Wash Urad dal 2 or 3 times and soak it in water,
let it sit for 1 hour
3. Another pot, wash
kuthiraivali 3 times and soak it in water, let it sit for 4 to 5 hours
4. Wash Fenugreek seeds ,
soak it in water let it sit for 4 hours
5. Drain the water from all
pots
Making batter
1. Transfer soaked Rice,
Kuthiraivali, Urad dal , fenugreek seeds and water(if required) to the blender, Grind it as smooth paste like dosa
batter
2. Tranfer batter to the
bowl. Add needed salt and water.mix well
3. Now the batter is ready.
Allow to rest for 6 to 7 hours.
Making Kuthirai vali
Dosai:
1. Heat the Dosa pan. Pour
one ladle of the batter and spread it like dosa. Spread it thick or thin as per
your choice
2. Add ½ tsp of oil or ghee
across the edges. Cook on medium flame
3. When it cooks on one
side, flip it and cook on other side as well
4. Serve Kuthiraivali dosa
with coconut chutney or Kara chutney

Ingredients
Soak them in water
Transfer all the ingredients to the blender. Add if needed water
Grind it as like dosa batter
Transfer to the bowl. add needed water and salt. Mix well

can follow the same method for other millet dosa also
