How to make Rava|Sooji
Appam without Baking soda
Ingredients:
(1 Cup=75Ml)
½ Cup Rice flour
½ Cup Wheat flour
½ Cup Rava
1 Cup Jaggery
4 Cardamoms
¼ Cup Coconut bits
Ghee as needed
Oil as needed
Method:
1.
Heat a tsp of ghee fry coconut bits until they
change color as light brown. Transfer them to the plate and keep aside
2.
In the same pan, add ½ tsp ghee and fry the rava
on low heat until it changes the color slightly
3.
Heat ½ cup of water, add Jaggery to it. Stirring
on medium flame for the jaggery to dissolve switch off the flame. Filter the jaggery
set aside to cool
4.
In a bowl mix together, Rava, Rice flour, Wheat
flour, Coconut bits, Cardamom, filtered jaggery
5.
Mix well. Let it sit for 4 to 5 hours. Add needed
warm water to get dosa batter consistency
6.
Heat paniyaram pan, add ½ tsp of ghee or oil in
each mould. Fill it with batter
7.
Cover with the lid let it cook on low heat until
the sides cook well
8.
Once it leaves the sides, flip it over the other
sides
9.
Insert the toothpick centre of the appam to
check whether it is cook well. If the toothpick comes clean ,the appam cook
well
10.
Repeat the same process for remaining batter

Serve the sweet rava appam
