How to Make Vellarikai | Cucumber Pachadi

Ingredients:

Vellarikai (Cucumber), chopped
50
ml Water

tblsp Curd
Salt
as needed
For grinding:

sambar shallots, peeled
2
Green chilies
1/4
Cup Grated Coconut
2
Garlic
½
tsp Cumin seeds
For Tempering:
1
tblsp cooking oil
1
tsp Mustard seeds
1
sprig Curry leaves
Preparation:
1. Transfer sambar shallots, grated coconut, cumin seeds, garlic and green chilies to the mix jar grind it as smooth paste and keep aside
Method:
1. In a bowl heat 50 ml
water
2. When water starts to
boil add vellarikai | Cucumber. Let it boil for 5 minutes
3. Add shallot, coconut and
green chilies paste. Mix well
4. Let it cook till the
masala raw smell disappear
5. Switch off the flame let
it sit for a minutes
6. Add curd and mix well
7. Mean while heat a pan
add oil and mustard seeds
8. When mustard seed
crackle add curry leaves
9. Pour the tempering over
the vellarikkai pachdi and mix well
10. Serve the vellarikkai
pachadi with rice and sambar

My notes:
Don’t
add over water since already cucumber have the water content and we can add
curd as well
