Kothamalli chutney Recipe | Coriander leaves chutney Recipe

Ingredients:

2 Handful Coriander leaves(1 Punch)
6 Sambar shallots, Peeled
2 Green chilly
1 tblsp channa
2 Garlic, Peeled
1 small piece tamarind
4 tblsp Grated coconut
Salt to taste
1 tsp cooking oil
water as needed

For Tempering:

1 tsp oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 sambar shallots, chopped
1 Sprig Curry  leaves

Method:

1.       Heat a pan, add channa dal and fry it till turns golden brown. Transfer it to the plate and keep aside
2.      In the same pan add 1 tsp oil and Garlic and sambar shallots. Fry them till onion gets transparent. Transfer it to the plate and keep aside
3.      Add Coriander leaves and sauté it till gets shrink. Transfer it to the plate and keep aside
4.      Let them cool for a minute
5.      Transfer fried ingredients, coconut, tamarind, green chilies and salt to mixi jar. Grind it as smooth paste(add water if required)
6.      Transfer the kothamalli chutney to the bowl and add needed water and mix well
7.      Meanwhile, in a pan add 1 tsp oil and mustard seeds
8.     When Mustard seeds crackle, add chopped shambar shallots
9.      When shallots turns golden brown add curry leaves
10.  Pour tempering over the Kothamalli chutney and mix well
11.   Serve the Kothamalli chutney with idly or dosa
