Muttai Biryani Recipe | Egg Biryani Recipe

This is one of the easiest,tastiest and flavorful biryani that we can make it at home with few ingredients. we can have with raitha or chicken or mutton curry.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cup Jeera rice
2 Egg
2 Onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
4 Garlic
1 piece Ginger
1 tblsp chilly powder
½ tblsp coriander powder
1 tsp Fennel seeds (Perunjeeragam)
2 Cloves
2 pieces Cinnamon
2 Cardamoms
1 Bayleaf
5 tblsp ghee
2 tblsp cooking oil
salt to taste

Preparation:

1.       Boil eggs, shell them and wash. Keep aside
2.      Transfer ginger and garlic to the mixi jar, grind them as fine paste and keep aside(its 1 tblsp ginger garlic paste)
3.      In a bowl add rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes drain the water completely and keep aside

Method:
  1. Heat a cooker add 2 tblsp oil and 5 tblsp ghee. Then add fennel seeds,cloves, cinnamon, cardamoms, bay leaf and sauté for a minutes on low flame
  2. When fennel seeds start to crackle add onion, fry it on low flame till turns golden brown
  3. Add ginger garlic paste, sauté it till the raw smell disappear
  4. Add tomato, fry it on low flame till gets mushy
  5. Add chili powder and coriander powder. Mix well and sauté for minutes on low heat
  6. Add rice and mix well
  7. Add boiled egg
  8. Add 3 cup of water and mix well
  9. When water start to boil close the lid and let it cook for 2 whistles on medium flame
  10. Once the pressure cooker settle down open the cooker and do the mix
  11. Serve the egg biryani

Water start to boiling
close the lid and let it cook for 2 whistles on medium flame
Once the pressure cooker settle down open the cooker and do the mix
Serve the egg biryani with raitha and chicken or mutton curry

My notes:
  1. Add 1:2 proportion of rice and water ratio. before start to cook, you should soak rice with water for 30 minutes
  2. we should cook Jeera rice on medium flame
