Ingredients:

2 Pudalangai | Snack guard, small size
1 onion, Chopped
2 green Chilies
4 tblsp grated Coconut
½ tsp cumin seeds
2 garlic cloves
Salt to taste

To Tempering:

1 Tsp Mustard seeds
1 Sprig Curry leaves
2 Tblsp Oil

Preparation:

  1. Transfer grated coconut, cumin, garlic, green chilies to the mixi jar. Grind it as slightly coarse paste.
  2. Peel the pudalangai skin and wash them. Cut as small pieces and keep aside
Method:

1.       Heat a pan. Add 2 tblsp oil
2.      Add Mustard seeds. When mustard seeds crackle, add Curry leaves and Onion. Sauté it till onion turns transparent
3.      Add Pudalangai and mix well. Let it cook for 5 mintues
4.      Add grinded coconut paste and salt. Mix well.
5.      Close the lid and let it cook on low heat till the masala raw smell disappear
6.      Serve Pudalangai poriyal with rice

Step by Step Pictorial Instructions:

Heat a pan. Add 2 tsp oil and Mustard seeds
When mustard seeds crackle, add Curry leaves and Onion.

Add Pudalangai and mix well.
Add grinded coconut paste and salt.
 Mix well.
Close the lid and let it cook on low heat till the masala raw smell disappear
Serve Pudalangai poriyal with rice
