Methu vada is one of the famous south Indian snacks we could
see most festivals and functions. Which is best combination of idly vada and
pongal vada. Medu vada is preparing by soaking and grinding urad dal . We can
give it to kids regularly since urad
dal is good for health. Step by step instructions below

Ingredients:
200
gram Urad dal
1
onion chopped
1
chilly
1
sprig curry leaves
Salt
as needed
Oil
for frying
Water
as needed
Method:
(1 cup = 200 gram)
(1 cup = 200 gram)
1. Wash 1 cup Urad dal 2 or
3 times and soak it in water, let it sit for 1 hour
2. After 1 hour drain water
completely from dal and transfer it to the grinder
3. Grind it as smooth
paste, sprinkle few water if needed
4. Now the batter is ready,
transfer to the bowl
5. Add chopped onion, chilly,
curry leaves and needed salt to the batter, then mix well
6. Take few oil and apply
in your hand
7. Take some batter from
bowl and make it as round shape
8. With your thump make a
hole in the center position
9. Heat oil in kadai for
deep frying the methu vada
10. Once the oil becomes
hot, drop the medu vada in hot oil, fry them on medium heat till turns color
change (flip them in between)
11. Fry them in batches till
you use up all the batter
12. Serve the Medu vada with
coconut chutney or sambar or pudina chutney or coriander chutney

Notes:
Don’t add more water while you grinding the urad
dal, if you needed sprinkle few water
