Dal Fry for Chapathi | Restaurant Style

Ingredients:
50 gram moong dal
50 gram toor dal
25 gram channa dal (optional)
1 tblsp chilli powder
½ tblsp gram masala powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 pinch hing

For sautéing:
1 tblsp butter or ghee
4 garlic cloves, chopped
1 piece Ginger, chopped
2 Green chilies
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 sprig curry leaves

For garnishing:
Few coriander leaves

Preparation:
Rinse moong dal, Toor dal, channa dal 2 to 3 times and soak it in water 15 to 20 minutes. After 20 minutes drain the water and keep aside

Method:
1.       Transfer all lentils into the cooker and add required water and salt( its for only lentils), cover the lid and let them cook for 6 whistles on medium heat. Once the pressure cooker settle down open the cooker and do the mix
2.      Heat a pan add 1 tblsp butter and 1 tsp cumin seeds, chopped garlic cloves, ginger and green chilies and saute till the ginger and garlic raw smell go away
3.      Add onion and curry leaves saute them till onion gets transparent
4.      Add chopped tomato and saute them till gets mushy
5.      Add chilly powder, garam masala and turmeric powder and saute for a minutes
6.      Add cooked dal and required water, 1 pinch hing and salt, mix well
7.      Cover the lid and let it cook till all the masala mix up with dal
8.     Switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves

Add tomato
Saute till tomato gets mushy 
Add chilly powder, turmeric and garam masala. mix well
Add cooked dal
Add required water, salt and hing. mix well
 Close the lid and let it cook till the masala mix up with dal
Garnish with coriander leaves
Serve dal fry with chapathi

My notes:
  1.   if you need you can add channa dal other wise you can skip channa dal
  2.   when we add butter or clarified butter it will give rich tasty
