How To Make Rava Upma

Rava Upma is the Indian breakfast and Dinner recipe. You can prepare upma with using semiya,Millet and Poha instead of Rava

Ingredients:

(1 Cup =200 ML)
1 cup Rava/Sooji or wheat Rava
1 carrot
8 Beans
1 medium size onion
2 Green chilly
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp channa dal
1 tsp Urad dal
1 tsp Groundnut (Optional)
Cashew nuts (optional)
4 tsp Ghee
Few curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
2 1/2 water

Instructions:
  • Heat a pan add 1 tsp ghee
  • Add 1 cup of Rava,  roast it turns slightly brown.
  • Remove the roasted Rava on a plate and keep aside
  • Add remaining ghee in the pan and add mustard seeds
  • When the mustard seeds crackle, add channa and urad Dal.Roast them untill turns golden brown
  • Add curry leaves, onion,green chillies and saute for a minute untill onion cook well
  • Further more add vegetables and 1/2 cup water.cook on medium flame 
  • Finally add 2 Cup of water and bring it to boil, then add roasted Rava little by little on low flame
  • Cover the lid and cook 5 minutes on low heat
  • Finally mix well the cooked upma and add ghee if required
  • Garnish the coriander leaves
  • Severe the upma with filter coffee

Ingredients:

Further more add vegetables and salt(required for vegetables), fry them for a minutes
Add 1/2 cup cook on medium flame until the vegetables cook well
Add 2 cup of water and salt, bring it to boil
Add roasted Rava little by little on low flame
Cover the lid and cook 5 minutes on low heat
Mix the upma well and Garnish with coriander leaves
Severe the upma with filter coffee

Notes:
Roasting rava is optional.but it will give more tastiest upma
Add 1:2 proportion of rava and water ratio and also you can add 1:2 1/2 rava and water ratio, its based on rava texture 
for vegetable cooking you can add extra water
