How to Make Cabbage and Carrot Poriyal | Mutaikose and Carrot Poriyal


Cabbage and Carrot poriyal is the Simple and delicious dish which is great combination with Rice and Sambar


Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
(1 Cup = 100 Gram)

2 Cup Cabbage, Finely Chopped
2 onion, Finely  Chopped
1 Carrot, Finely Chopped
2 Green chilies silted
½ Cup Coconut Grated
Salt to taste

To Tempering:

1 Tsp Mustard seeds
1 Sprig Curry leaves
1 Tblsp Cooking  Oil

To Grinding

4 Garlic
½ tsp Cumin seeds(Jeeragam)

Preparation:

Add Garlic and Cumin seeds to Mixi jar. grind it as paste and keep aside

Method:

1.       Heat a pan. Add 2 tblsp oil
2.      Add Mustard seeds
3.      When mustard seeds crackle, add Curry leaves
4.      Add green chilies and Onion. Sauté it till onion gets transparent
5.      Add Cabbage and Carrot and Mix well
6.      Close the lid and let it cook on low heat until the Cabbage and Carrot cooks well
7.      Add grinding Cumin and garlic paste and let it cook for a minutes
8.     Add grated Coconut and salt. let it cook for a minutes
9.      Serve Cabbage and Carrot with rice and sambar

Step by Step Pictorial Instructions:

Heat a pan. Add 2 tblsp oil and Mustard seeds
When mustard seeds crackle, add Curry leaves,green chilies and Onion. Sauté it till onion gets transparent
Add Cabbage and Carrot and Mix well
Close the lid and let it cook on low heat until the Cabbage and Carrot cooks well
Add grinding Cumin and garlic paste and let it cook for a minutes
Add grated Coconut and salt. 
Mix Well.let it cook for a minutes
Serve Cabbage and Carrot with rice and sambar

Notes:

  1.  We should cook all poriyal on low heat otherwise it will get burnt
  2.  We should not add water for poriyal
