Ingredients:

Plantain (Valakkai)

Onion, Finely chopped

Green chilies, silted
½
Cup Grated coconut
For
tempering:

tsp mustard seeds
1
tblsp oil
1 sprig curry leaves
For
Grinding:
1
tsp Cumin seeds

Garlic, Peeled
Preparation:
Transfer
Cumin seeds and Garlic to blender, grind it and keep aside.
Method:
1. Wash the raw banana Cut off the top and bottom edges
and Cut into 2 pieces. add them into pressure cooker and add 1 cup water and few salt.
Cover the lid for 1 whistle. Once the pressure cooker settle down open the
pressure cooker drain the water and keep aside.
2. Peel the raw banana skin
and Grate the steamed raw banana
3. Heat a pan, add 1 tblsp
oil and Mustard seeds
4. When Mustard seeds
crackle add curry leaves
5. Add Onion and chilies
sauté them till the onion turns
transparent
6. Add Grated plantain and
Mix well
7. Add Cumin and garlic
paste. Mix well
8. Finally add Grated
coconut and mix well. Let it cook for a minute
9. Serve Valakkai puttu
with rice and any Kara kulambu
