Ingredients:
250 gram Kothavarangai(Cluster Beans)
2 onion, Finely  Chopped
¼ Cup Grated Coconut (5 tblsp)
Salt to taste

To Tempering:
1 Tsp Mustard seeds
1 Sprig Curry leaves
1 Tblsp Cooking  Oil

To Grinding
3 Garlic
2 Green chilies
½ tsp Cumin seeds(Jeeragam)

Preparation:
  1. Add Garlic, Green chilies and Cumin seeds to Mixi jar. grind it as paste and keep aside
  2. Cut 2 edges of kothavarangai, wash them and cut as small pieces and keep aside


Method:
  1. In a pot add 1 cup water, add chopped kothavarangai and required salt.Close the lid and Let them cook till the kothavarangai cooks half and keep aside
  2. Heat a pan, add 1 tblsp oil and Mustard seeds
  3. When mustard seeds crackle, add Curry leaves and Onion. Sauté it till onion gets transparent
  4. Add Cooked kothavarangai and mix well
  5. Add grinded masala paste and grated coconut and salt(if required).Mix well
  6. Close the lid and let it cook on low heat for 5 minutes
  7. Serve Kothavarangai poriyal with rice and sambar
