Ingredients:
250 gram Kothavarangai(Cluster Beans)
2 onion, Finely Chopped
¼ Cup Grated Coconut (5 tblsp)
Salt to taste
To Tempering:
1 Tsp Mustard seeds
1 Sprig Curry leaves
1 Tblsp Cooking Oil
To Grinding
3 Garlic
2 Green chilies
½ tsp Cumin seeds(Jeeragam)
Preparation:
- Add Garlic, Green chilies and Cumin seeds to Mixi jar. grind it as paste and keep aside
- Cut 2 edges of kothavarangai, wash them and cut as small pieces and keep aside
Method:
- In a pot add 1 cup water, add chopped kothavarangai and required salt.Close the lid and Let them cook till the kothavarangai cooks half and keep aside
- Heat a pan, add 1 tblsp oil and Mustard seeds
- When mustard seeds crackle, add Curry leaves and Onion. Sauté it till onion gets transparent
- Add Cooked kothavarangai and mix well
- Add grinded masala paste and grated coconut and salt(if required).Mix well
- Close the lid and let it cook on low heat for 5 minutes
- Serve Kothavarangai poriyal with rice and sambar
