Quick evening snack | Onion Bonda recipe | Vengaya bonda recipe

Onion Bonda made with main ingredients Onion, gram flour, rice flour and spices. We can made this very quickly at home. Hot onion bonda with hot coffee or tea is the perfect choice for evening and raining season

Ingredients:
(1 cup = 200 ml)
2 Big onion, chopped
1 green chilly
1 piece ginger
4 garlic cloves
1 sprig curry leaves
1 pinch perungayam (Hing)
1 tblsp red chilly powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 cup gram flour (Kadalai mavu)
¼ cup rice flour
Salt as needed
Oil for frying
Water as needed

Preparation:
Transfer ginger and garlic to the mixi jar, grind them as fine paste and keep aside (its 1 tblsp ginger & garlic paste)

Method:
1.       In a bowl add chopped onion and add green chilies, curry leaves and ginger & garlic paste
2.      Add gram flour and rice flour
3.      Add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, perungayam and required salt, mix well
4.      Add water little by little and mix well. The batter should be thick consistency
5.      Heat oil in kadai for deep frying the Onion bonda
6.      Once the oil becomes hot, drop the bonda batter in hot oil, fry them on medium heat  till turns color change (Make sure inside of bonda cooks well)
7.      Fry them in batches till you use up all the batter
8.     Serve the onion bonda with coconut chutney
